Advances in modern technology have led to the development of better, healthier materials and wider parameters when it comes to contact lenses. This means that almost anyone can now wear contact lenses, be it for regular or social wear, including those who were previously told they were not suitable. Patients with complex prescriptions and corneal disease can also be fitted with a variety of specialist lenses.
I also offer lenses for myopia control which can either be worn during the day, or at night time whilst you sleep.

Lens types:

A soft lens designed to be used once, then discarded at the end of the day. Also available in astigmatic and multifocal powers..

Soft lenses that are designed to be used daily and are kept in solution overnight. They are available as 2-weekly, monthly, 3 monthly and in some cases up to 6 monthly replacement. Are also available in astigmatic and multifocal options.

These are commonly referred to as ‘hard lenses’ and can correct a multitude of different prescriptions, including astigmatic, multifocal and even irregular corneas. . They can be replaced every 6 month but if looked after can last up to 18 months-2 years.

Still classified as a ‘soft lens’ these lenses are slightly firmer than the typical soft lens, but can be used in patients with corneal disease, such as Keratoconus to help improve vision significantly.

Ortho-K is a revolutionary technology. It uses specially designed rigid gas permeable lenses which are worn overnight to reshape the cornea. They gently correct your vision whilst you sleep, eliminating the need for spectacles or contact lenses during the day. It is a safe and effective therapy in myopia control.

For those patients who are not suitable for Ortho-K, there are alternative options. Worn during the day, these soft lenses have also proved to be extremely effective in the treatment of myopia.

Larger lenses that rest on the white of the eye, they are extremely comfortable and can really help to improve vision for those with more complex conditions such as keratoconus, post graft or PMD.
They also have applications in the treatment of dry eye and GVHD
