Samir is currently the Lead Optometrist at Western Eye Hospital, with a special interest in Glaucoma, Uveitis and Specialist Contact Lenses. Previously, he had worked for a large high street chain and then moved to an Independent practice, where he was involved in specialist contact lens fitting and myopia control.

A graduate of the University of Manchester, he has also successfully obtained a certification in Advanced Medical Contact Lenses from Moorfields/UCL, and recently gained the Diploma in Independent Prescribing for Ocular Therapeutics.

In 2022 Samir became a Fellow of the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA).

“As a specialist contact lens practitioner, my aim is to be able to help my patients reach their visual potential and see to the best of their ability; this is what drives me to continue learning”.
